Let’s get started!
The first step is to get in touch with us and tell us a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’d like some help with, and whether there’s a particular type of therapy you’re interested in. You can also let us know if you’re interested in in-room, blue space or sunrise sessions, but you definitely don’t need to have it all figured out yet.
From there, we’ll let you know whether Wavelength is likely to be a good fit and talk you through appointment availability and the next steps.
Before your first appointment, we ask that you organise a referral from your GP. While a referral isn’t technically required to see a psychologist privately, having your GP involved helps us coordinate your care and connect you with other supports if needed. It’s also a good opportunity to ask your GP about a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which may allow you to access Medicare rebates for your sessions.
Your first session will take place either in-room or via telehealth. This gives us a chance to get to know you, understand what’s been going on and work out together what you’d like therapy to look like.
After that, you can choose the style of sessions that works for you, and you’re always free to mix and match between in-room, blue space and sunrise sessions as you go.
Please note that Wavelength is not a crisis or emergency service and wait times can vary. If you need immediate help please contact:
